CLIENT // Los Alamos County, New Mexico PROJECT // 2-Way Radio Feasibility Study

Challenge: Study the needs and requirements of all county stakeholders for the design and cost estimate of a Public Safety P25 radio network.

Solution: Crestino developed and presented a study to the Office of Emergency Management for the Incorporated County of Los Alamos. This study defined a new state-of-the art integrated radio communications system. It determined needed site locations, technology, radio counts, coverage mapping, frequencies of operation and budget estimates for the voice system, data system and network infrastructure.

Result: This project enables enhanced services for the community and will affect every person within and near the County borders. The implementation of the new system will incorporate an LMR (Land Mobile Radio) two way voice network, and a Long Term Evolution (LTE) high speed data network. A microwave radio ring topology combined with the County fiber optic network will provide a redundant and reliable backhaul data transport network between sites.
